Route 61 closed at viaduct outside Mount Carmel at scene of multi-vehicle crash

Motorists in Northumberland County are advised that Route 61 is currently closed at the scene of a multiple-vehicle crash at the intersection with Route 2032, the road coming off Wilburton Mountain in Mount Carmel Township.

Route 61 traffic will be detoured onto Third Street in Mount Carmel and Route 54, then back to Route 61 at Strong.

Emergency responders anticipate Route 61 will be closed at Route 2032 until at least mid-afternoon.
