Halls Run Bridge Work Starts April 8 under Flagging
Temporary signals will control traffic starting April 16
Lock Haven – On behalf of Governor Tom Corbett, PennDOT today announced that work to replace a bridge on Route 144 south of Renovo will get underway on Monday, April 8. Once work is complete, PennDOT will be able to remove the current one-truck-at-a-time posting and delete the bridge from the list of structurally deficient bridges in Clinton County. Replacement will also provide area drivers with safer, more efficient travel across a modern structure.
Weather permitting; work on the bridge will start April 8 under an alternating traffic pattern, with flaggers present in the work zone. On Tuesday, April 16, temporary traffic signals will be in place to enforce an alternating traffic pattern. Lane width through the work zone is ten feet.
The bridge spans Halls Run, about three miles south of Renovo in Noyes Township. The Halls Run Bridge was built in 1941, is 32 feet long and carries an average of 320 vehicles each day.
Work is expected to last through late October and includes replacement of the old bridge with a new concrete box beam bridge, approach work, paving, guide rail updates, and miscellaneous items. LTT Trucking LLC of North Bend is the contractor for this $1 million job.
Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
