Youth group will meet on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at 4 pm in the CE building for a pizza party and to reconvene under the guidance of Pastor Shatto.

Sue Ann Smith was lay leader for Easter Sunday; Alyson and Andie Leach were ushers. Freya Miller and Jean Lush were servers for the sacrament of communion.

Pastor Shatto titled his sermon, “Jesus’ Team”, and told a short story about a boy named Shay who had both learning and physical disabilities. One day Shay and his father were taking a walk, and came upon a boy’s baseball game in progress. When they asked if Shay could play, the boys allowed him to put on a team shirt and sent him to the outfield.

Later, Shay asked if he could bat, and through a series of accommodations made by the players, he got a hit and ran home as a hero with a grand slam for his team.

The mind of Jesus took over the game by the choices and changes in stance the other players made to make Shay a hero. Easter changes our stance so we can rise to Christ-like living. It is time to rise to the better things we learn from Jesus. We can entrust our choices to him. Follow him and you will not be disappointed.

 Shine, Jesus, shine!
