Three people were transported to Charles Cole Hospital after a two vehicle crash Monday morning at 10:12 AM on the Dug Road (Rt. 44 North of Shinglehouse) in Ceres Township..

Amie L. Whitsell, 25, of Shinglehouse, PA, was taken to Cole Memorial for treatment of minor injuries.  Her passenger, a 2 year old male was secured in a safety seat and was not injured. The child was transported to Cole Memorial for evaluation. Whitsell was wearing a seat belt.

Christopher Houghtaling, 35, of Coudersport, PA, suffered a minort injury and was trancported to Cole Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Trooper David Surra, who investigated, said the crash occurred 1 mile north of the Potter/McKean County line. Whitsell was driving a 2006 Kia Sorento northbound on RT. 44 when she lost control of the vehicle on a downhill grade. The Kia spun around in the roadway while continuing to travel northward.  Her vehicle traveled into the path of a 2002 Subaru SUV operated by Houghtaling that was traveling south. The rear of the Kia struck the front end of the Subaru.  

Whitsell will be cited for Driving on Roadways Laned For traffic. 

Houghtaling will be cited for Unregistered Vehicle.

Shinglehouse Fire & Ambulance and Portville Ambulance assisted at the scene.
