Berwick Turnpike bridge replacement in Bradford County starts April 1
On behalf of Governor Tom Corbett, PennDOT today announced a $1,374,013 bridge replacement project on Route 4013 (Berwick Turnpike) just south of the village of Bentley Creek in Ridgebury Township, Bradford County, is set to start April 1.
The existing 99’-long bridge over Bentley Creek, near the intersection with Burnett Lane, was built in 1927 and is currently classified as structurally deficient.
This project includes replacing the old bridge with a new concrete structure on the existing alignment, new roadway approaches, and new guiderail.
Prime contractor, The L.C. Whitford Company, Inc., will construct a temporary roadway around the bridge for traffic to use while the new bridge is being built.
The new bridge is scheduled to be open to traffic by the end of August.
All work under the contract should be completed by the end of September.
