Galeton Rotary Club News
On Saturday, March 23 the Galeton Rotary Club and Cole Memorial Hospital sponsored the annual multiphasic blood testing for the community and outlying areas. It was held at the First Presbyterian Church. 70 individuals had their blood screened. Rotary and Cole have been providing this important service for many years.During the Lenten season Rotary has provided a lighted cross on a hill overlooking Galeton. During the Christmas season a star is lighted on the same hill. This has been a Rotary gift to the community since 1956. We are sure that many just expect it to be there and take it for granted. Over the years it has been an annual chore to keep the star/cross in good condition not to mention replacing light bulbs and the cost for electricity and bulbs.
Over the years a small core of Rotarians have been keeping these symbols lit. They are unsung volunteers. Over the past few years Toni Adami has been that faithful person. Thanks Tony
