Trout Season Opens Next Saturday

Spring is just around the corner, and so is the start of trout season! Local anglers making plans for opening day next Saturday, April 13, may want to check out trout stocking activities in the area at the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission website. If you are new to fishing, or thinking of giving it a try, check out these fishing fundamentals to make the most of your fishing experience. And remember, the state holds two Fish for Free Days each year to allow anyone (resident or non-resident) to legally fish on all of Pennsylvania’s waterways with no fishing license required. This year’s Fish for Free Days are on May 27 and July 4.

Good luck!
April is National Donate Life Month

To raise awareness of the more than 8,000 Pennsylvanians waiting for an organ transplant to save their lives, April is Donate Life Month. One organ donor can potentially save the lives of patients awaiting heart, liver, lung, kidney or pancreas transplants.

Pennsylvania residents can elect to be an organ donor on their driver’s licenses or identification cards by registering online; there is no need to wait for a renewal. If you’d like to become an organ donor, just register at PennDOT’s driver and vehicle services website.

To learn more about organ donation, including how to become a living organ donor, visit the Donate Life Pennsylvania website.
