It seems the leaps and bounds Mr. Peter Ramirez has made throughout the day has placed him 106 votes ahead of our local cartoonist, Lonny Frost.
"It's disappointing to everyone involved, to have the lead as long we did, then lose it in a 2 hour spread," Lonny stated this evening after returning home.
"My supporters have not given up, nor have I given up. I am one of the 35 contestants still left in this contest. I still believe I have the best group of family, friends and fans," Frost stated excitedly.
Our staff has watched the progression of this round to see how it ran and we cannot figure it out. But we have confirmed that many supporters still have one more vote left before 11:59pm ticks in.
So if you have not yet signed up to vote for Lonny's "Wild Tails" comic, we ask that you do it now and get a vote in.
"I am so close to grabbing that 1st spot and I know my supporters want to hand it to me, but we are just shy of the number of votes needed," Lonny stated.
So now it is a waiting game as the clock ticks down and supporters start posting their last votes. How close will they get Lonny Frost? Or will, Peter Ramirez find another 100 votes at the last minute and keep us all from getting the ending we would love to see?
I guess all those questions are in the supporters' hands. There comes a time in each round that it always ends up in the hands of those participating. That is why we have been pushing those who have not yet signed up, to do so. They maybe the ones that could be the deciding votes.
The three judges from the Cartoonist Studio are ready to eliminate 10 to 12 more of the remaining contestants. Making the number of contestants drop into the twenties, as we wonder who will make it into Round 9.

"I thank everyone for keeping me at the top and in the contest," Lonny thankfully exclaimed.
"I hope we can do this again next week, in Round 9," Mr. Frost stated.
