PERSONAL UPDATE: What a rush!
Wow, what a rush of votes at the last minute! Everyone did a fabulous job, no complaints from me.
Thank you all for your great support and that rush of votes at the end made it all the more exciting.
Everyone kept me up close to Peter Ramirez all day. This afternoon I was 115 votes away from first. That lead was cut down to 51 votes with just a few minute...s left in the round. That's when Peter Ramirez got another 30 votes to appear in the last 2 minutes. So I ended up being behind by only 84 votes.
Not bad for a country boy who writes a few stories, snaps some great photos and does not even carry an art degree.
However, that really is not the story. The real story lies with those who have been supporting my dream of making it through all 10 rounds. It possibly helping me acquire a first prize of being mentored by a syndicated cartoonist of my choice.
The story showcases the hard determination of everyone working together. This has shown those who are watching or following the story of the local Tioga County man trying to reach for a dream and a goal only through the help of others combined support.
Many of you are strangers to me, you do not know me and I do not know you. In fact, what an important key this is to the entire event of this contest.
Family, friends and complete strangers working together to help a person make it through 8 rounds of a cartoon contest. There is absolutely no benefits to be collected by any of them voting. In fact, the benefits only goes to one person, the person who is drawing a single panel cartoon for each week.
Without your support, encouragement and votes, I am nothing, I would go no where and I would not be here writing this if you all have not kept voting for me time after time, day after day.
God bless you all. I can never thank you enough for placing me in second once again. You have allowed me the opportunity to once again to move forward. Now we wait until the judges decide who is moving on and who is going home with crushed dreams.
I am excited and believe I will be heading into Round 9. Or at least I feel I will, thanks to all of you.
Someone will update you as soon as I receive the news from the contest judges on their decision.
Again I thank you for your countless hours, grand support and massive amounts of votes.
Here are the top four positions:
1st again was claimed by Peter Ramirez with 1758 votes.
2nd again is (me) Lonny Frost with 1675 votes.
3rd again is Tim Green with 805 votes and
4th was also once again taken by Mike Fleck with a strange number of 666 votes.
