National Library Week is April 14th – 20th and we invite you to help us celebrate by joining us on Wednesday, April 17th, at 6:00 p.m. for movie night at the library! The movie we will be showing is a wholesome family movie with heart that's guaranteed to appeal to horse-loving kids. Call the library to register and for the name of the movie and further details.

On April 23rd the library will be participating in World Book Night. World Book Night is an annual celebration dedicated to spreading the love of reading, person to person. Each year on April 23rd, tens of thousands of people go out into their communities and give half a million free World Book Night paperbacks to light and nonreaders. We could still use more volunteers willing to hand out books. Stop by the library or call if you would be would like to help.

CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Training: Join us to learn skills that will more effectively help yourselves and your neighbors during emergencies. This course is offered at NO COST to you through FEMA's Citizens Corps program and will be held at the library. It will be completed over the course of 7 evening sessions (DATES: April 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, 25 and 29). No experience required. Must be 16 years of age or older. To register call 814-274-8900.

Are you struggling with your finances? Do you have too much month left at the end of your money? If so, Financial Peace University can help. Learn how to pay off debt and save for the future. The classes will be held on Saturdays. We need at least 10 families in order to hold the classes. For more information or to sign up please contact the library.

The library’s book discussion group is reading Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford for discussion in April. Book discussion will be on April 24th at 1:30 p.m. We would love to have you join us!

Are you interested in tracing your family history but don’t know where to start? Would you like to get together regularly with a group of others and share tips and information? We have a family history group that meets at the library regularly to do just that! The group will be meeting on April 12th at 3:00 p.m. Call the library at 814-697-6691 to register or if you have any questions.

Story Time is taking place TWICE every Wednesday throughout the school year at 11 and 4. Come out for some great stories and songs with Pen!

The Stitch Together Knit and Crochet group meets every Monday and Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. They are always happy to add new members! Just bring along your current project and join in. Having problems with a pattern? Bring it in and they’ll help you through it. If you don’t knit or crochet, there’s always someone available and willing to teach.
